Teacher Promotion Examination: Teachers Protest at GES HQ

Teachers who took part in the February 2021 teacher promotion examination and were informed they have passed got the shock of their lives that they have actually failed.
The later information from the promotion portal compelled some affected persons to storm the Ghana Education Service yesterday to register their displeasure over what they saw as a calculated attempt to fail them when they have passed.
The reactions from the teachers were caused by what some stakeholders saw as a portal failure.
The promotion portal is believed to have failed which led to the closing of the portal. The aggrieved teachers picket at the GES headquarters chanting “We will not agree” … “We want to see our scripts” among others.
Per information available to Ghanaeducation.org, the teachers checked their results on the promotion portal, they received a prompt indicating they had passed and were tasked to submit some documents for verification. The portal was closed and reopened on Saturday at 1 pm then the results changed.
Some 36.7% of teachers who failed may remain at their current level until they pass the examination. However, the current situation has made things difficult for stakeholders to tell if the teachers really failed the examination.
Some teachers who checked their results were congratulated that they have passed went ahead to submit the required documents but were informed they actually failed the examination.
The teacher unions have given the Ghana Education Service up to Friday, 11th June 2021 to respond to the mix-up of the promotion examination.
