Tenant Impregnates Pastor’s 16-Year-Old Daughter,Trial Unfolds in Court
In a shocking and disturbing turn of events, a 61-year-old pastor testified in the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Wednesday, shedding light on a horrific crime committed against his 16-year-old daughter. The accused, Godwin Emmanuel, who happened to be the pastor’s tenant, was charged with defilement by the Lagos State government.
The prosecution counsel stated that Emmanuel’s actions were in violation of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty, leading to the invitation of the pastor to testify before the court.
The pastor, a witness in the case, revealed that he had known Emmanuel for several years through an estate agent.
Disturbed by the circumstances surrounding his daughter’s pregnancy, he shared with the court that his daughter had identified Emmanuel as the person responsible for her condition.
According to the witness, his daughter confirmed to him that Emmanuel had been sleeping with her for a significant period, resulting in her pregnancy at the young age of 16.

This revelation prompted the pastor to report the matter to the police, specifically at Area K Police Station in Badagry.
Under cross-examination by the defence counsel, the pastor admitted that he was unable to recall the exact date he reported the case to the police.
Frustrated by the lack of progress, he made further reports to the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency as well as a medical center.
The police’s failure to act on his complaint convinced him that Emmanuel was responsible for impregnating his daughter, especially after learning that Emmanuel’s wife, a nurse, had given his daughter drugs to terminate the pregnancy.
Additionally, during one of their sexual encounters, the condom they were using reportedly broke, further reinforcing the pastor’s belief in the accused’s guilt.
Shockingly, Emmanuel allegedly instructed the pastor’s daughter to shift responsibility to a third person, someone he conveniently introduced to her.
Presiding Justice Abiola Soladoye adjourned the case to December 11 for further proceedings.
