[ Video ] UENR Field Trip Ends in Tragedy: Student Killed and Others Sexually Assaulted in Robbery

About 80 University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) students were horrified by a heinous Robbery crime that happened yesterday night as they were leaving a field trip at Bui Dam.

Students studying renewable energy engineering were ambushed violently by armed attackers. The bus transporting the students was forced to stop by robbers on their way back from an educational trip, and they subsequently stole cash, phones, and laptops among other personal items.

What was supposed to be a typical academic outing quickly turned into a horrific finale when the event quickly spiraled out of control and several of the students were attacked physically and sexually.

After Abdul Aziz Isaiah, well known as Zamani, a beloved final-year student, was shot and died, the attack took a devastating turn.

The robbers attempted to force their way onto the bus when they fired the fatal shot, striking Isaiah and instantly killing him. The academic community is in deep sorrow over the passing of Isaiah, who will be remembered.

A thorough investigation into the assaults and robberies has been started by the local authorities. In an effort to bring the victims and their families quick justice, police are actively looking for the suspects in this heinous crime.

The University of Energy and Natural Resources has said that it will review and greatly improve the security protocols for any upcoming student outings.

This tragic incident has spurred a larger conversation about the security of educational field trips and the steps that should be taken to shield students from violent acts that are so unexpected.

It is recommended that community leaders, educational authorities, and law enforcement collaborate in order to guarantee the safety of every student undertaking coursework and fieldwork.
