UG Security Access Gate Building Commissioned :
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, has commissioned the security access gate building on the Academic Freedom Road near the University of Ghana Stadium.
The gate building has six-offices and an adjoining parking space for 100 vehicles, including some commercial vehicles to serve students and commuters who use the Legon Campus.
The Director of Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD), Mr. Charles Kofinti, disclosed that this road gate was designed as part of the Tetteh Quarshie-Madina road project to befit the status of a University. It does not require an e-card pass to drive through.
On commissioning the facility, the Vice-Chancellor took a tour inside the building.
Present at the ceremony were the Pro-Vice Chancellor (RID), Prof. Felix Asante; Provost, College of Health Sciences, Rev. Prof. Patrick F. Ayeh-Kumi; Ag. Provost, College of Education, Prof. Michael Tagoe; Provost, College of Humanities, Professor Daniel Ofori; Coordinator of the Vice-Chancellor’s Strategic Teams, Prof. Andrew Anthony Adjei; Director of Finance, Mrs. Bernice B. Agudu; and the Ag. Director of Public Affairs, Ms. Eccles Andoh.

Also present at the UG Security Access Gate commissioning were members of staff from various units of the University and the executives of the Legon Taxi Drivers Association led by the Chairman, Mr. Edward Philip Letcher.
