Academic City Ghana’s best EdTech institution of the year

Academic City Ghana’s best EdTech institution of the year at the first Africa Technovate Awards.

At the first Africa Technovate Awards, Academic City University College was selected Outstanding EdTech Institution of the Year.
The Africa Technovate Awards event honours and inspires technology companies who are developing solutions to help Africa remain competitive, particularly in the age of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

Academic City was recognised for its efforts to use technology, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver globally competitive academic programmes while also digitising learning and processing through an e-library, digital identification for students and staff, performance analytics, digital classrooms, and teacher digital upskilling.

Academic City has proved its dedication to altering the narrative of higher education in Africa by delivering high-quality education on par with that available in other regions of the world since its start.

Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, and Communication Arts are among the undergraduate degree programmes offered by the university.

According to Academic City’s Public Relations Manager, Cyril Quansah-Quainoo, these programmes are deliberately intended to help students become more practical, hands-on, and productive by incorporating world-class STEAM education.

Mr Quansah-Quainoo, commenting on the prize, said it indicated that Academic City’s work in rewriting the narrative of higher education in Ghana and Africa over the years had been noticed, adding that “the recognition is dedicated to the hardworking staff, students both past and present, and all stakeholders for their various roles in making the university come this far in its journey”.
