VGMA 2023: Black Sherif Deserves The Artiste Of The Year

‘Kwaku the traveler’ hit maker, Black Sherif has been nominated for 11 awards scheme for the upcoming 2023 VGMA awards. Black Sherif deserves the ‘Artiste of the year’ award and these are my solid reasons.
Ghana’s biggest night has always been the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) night. The 24th edition of the VGMA comes off this Saturday, 6th May 2023 at the Grand Arena (Accra International Conference Center).
A premium ticket goes for a cool 500 Ghana cedis and a VIP ticket also goes for a cool 700 Ghana cedis.
Black Sherif deserves the ‘Artiste of the year’ award and these are the reasons;
On 31st March, Blacko released the hit song ‘Kwaku the traveler’. Within 24 hours Black Sherif’s single ‘Kwaku the Traveler’ amassed close to a million streams (around 930K). On the other hand, talented gospel musician Piesie Esther’s ‘Way3 me yie’ grabbed 1.5 million streams on Boomplay in over 2 months.
Stonebwoy’s ‘Therapy’ hit 900K streams in a period of 1 month. This is clearly an indication that ‘Kwaku the Traveler’ was not only nominated for Vodafone’s Most Popular song of the year but rather to act as a complete leverage for Black Sherif to win the ‘Artiste of the year’.
It is for a fact that Black Sherif deserves the Artiste of the year over Piesie Esther, Joe Mettle, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Camidoh and Kidi.
Black Sherif was the first Ghanaian artist to reach 100 million streams on boomplay. Black Sherif’s Kwaku the traveler joined the Boomplay’s Golden Club, a list of musicians who have have surpassed the 100 million streams milestone, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Diamond Platinumz, Davido, Joeboy, Fireboy DML, Omah Lay and Rayvanny.
It will be a total joke if Black Sherif don’t win ‘Artiste of the year’. Blacko is truly a superstar in the making, and the journey continues for ‘Kwaku the traveler’.
