WAEC Bans SDA SHS from 2024/2025 WASSCE
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has recently made a significant announcement regarding the participation of candidates from SDA SHS bans in the 2024 WASSCE for School in Ghana.
Starting from the 2024/25 WASSCE, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has decided to include ‘SDA Senior High School’ (SHS) in its blacklist.
The council has expressed concerns over the illegal registration of a majority of candidates from the school, prompting the possibility of blacklisting them from the examination.

John Kapi, a spokesperson for WAEC, highlighted the need for thorough scrutiny and verification of candidates submitted by SDA SHS against their enrollment list. If any candidates are found to be illegally registered, they may face the consequence of being blacklisted from the WASSCE. In addition, it has been recommended to WAEC’s management to derecognize SDA SHS as an examination center.

WAEC bans SDA SHS students from participating in the upcoming WASSCE for School stems from the school’s involvement in allowing unauthorized individuals to use their login code and uniform to register unqualified students for the examination. This fraudulent activity has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the examination process.
The suspects involved in this fraudulent activity, Robert Hackman and Kwabena Baah Achemfour, have been apprehended and are currently assisting the Swedru District Police Headquarters in their investigation. The joint efforts of the National Security Intelligence Unit and WAEC security led to the arrest of the suspects while they were attempting to register the candidates.
