WAEC creates unnecessary shortage of 2022 WASSCE result checkers
24 hours after WAEC released the 2022 WASSCE results for school candidates, it has succeeded in creating an unnecessary evil by overseeing the with shortage of 2022 WASSCE result checkers. Students, parents, operators of internet cafés and all middle men who are seeking to buy result checker cards since the early hours of Thursday 2nd December 2022 are yet to get checkers to buy. What this means is that candidates cannot check their results.
Again, some WAEC result checkers purchased online from WAEC affiliates and online sales points do not work when used by candidates.
Ghana Education News can report many of such instances as checkers purchased and sold to candidates fail to work. If the result portal does not indicate that the card has been used already, it will indicate that the card is invalid among others.
Buyers and retailers of the 2022 WASSCE result checkers have been at the receiving end of defective checker results. The issues of WASSCE result checkers getting finished does not make logical sense.
WAEC must ensure that, these checkers which should not expire in their systems are created with unlimited quantities of stock so that wholesalers can always get them and supply buyers and retailers.
Since today was a Holiday and WAEC was going to break on Thursday, it would have been proactive on their side to supply large quantities of the result checkers for students to buy. With the WASSCE 2022 result checking cards out of stock, criminals have also taken advantage of the situation and are selling their personally generated and fake checkers and defrauding unsuspecting buyers.
GhanaEducation.org for instance has not been able to acquire checker cards for its clients who have paid and are yet to be supplied the checkers, which has created stressful experiences for the education news portal staff and buyers who are yet to receive their result checkers.
To save the situation, WAEC and its stakeholders in-charge of making the result checkers available for sale must report to work on Saturday, 4th November, 2022 to swiftly deal with the nationwide shortage of this essential digital pin codes for students to check their results. This annual shortage must not become a culture of WAEC, unless they do not want to be efficient in what ever they do. How can you leverage technology and still be inefficient in its use and capabilities.
The stress is no longer funny and the better WAEC sits up the better.
