The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released a batch of the previously withheld 2025 WASSCE results, bringing relief to thousands of affected candidates across the country. Reliable information from the Council confirms that the release was approved after weeks of investigations into suspected examination irregularities.

Candidates whose results were marked as withheld when the main results were published can now recheck their status. WAEC has emphasized that checking the updated results requires fresh result checkers. Candidates are therefore directed to visit the approved result checker portal at voucherdey.com to purchase new vouchers.

For candidates who recheck and still find their results withheld, WAEC advises them to visit the Examination Irregularity Status Checker Portal to verify the current status of the investigation surrounding their scripts. The Council noted that this portal provides real-time updates on cases under review.

Before the initial release of the 2025 WASSCE results, WAEC withheld the scripts of thousands of students and several schools over suspected malpractice. With the latest update, many of these candidates can now confirm whether their results have been cleared. WAEC has assured the public that more withheld results will be released in batches as investigations progress.

However, the Council states that candidates who are confirmed to have engaged in examination malpractice will not have their results released. Instead, their results will be cancelled in line with WAEC’s regulations.

In a related development, WAEC has opened registration for the 2025 January/February WASSCE resit examination for candidates who failed one or more subjects. The resit window offers affected students another opportunity to improve their grades for tertiary admission.

Prospective students who applied to the University of Ghana or the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) but previously had withheld results are advised to check their updated results and proceed to the respective university admissions portals. This will enable them to complete their application processes and increase their chances of securing admission into their preferred degree programmes.
