WASSCE 2024 English Language: Sample Composition Questions To Try
The 2024 WASSCE is ongoing and candidates have started with their practical and theory for some courses. Find below, some sample composition questions for the 2024 WASSCE English Language.
The English Language comprises of two sections (Section A and B).
The section A is mainly objectives with 80 questions from all angles of the English Language syllabus and the Literature aspect as well.
Candidates are advised to do well to pass the English Language. Candidates are to score not less than C6 in order to gain admission in any tertiary institution in Ghana.
English is a Core subject and hence must be passed at all cost.
The composition part of the English Language paper will comprise of five essays and candidates will be required to answer only one for 50 marks. The number of required words for the essay should not be less than 450 words.
Candidates are advised to spend not more than 50 minutes as well in this section/part.

1. Write a story to illustrate the saying “Not all that glitters is gold”
2. Write an article for publication in the newspaper on the internet has done more harm than good.
3. Write a letter to your brother in another country telling him about the current leadership in the nation and its effect on you as a student.
4. As a senior prefect of your school, write a letter to the headmaster, telling him the benefits of allowing students to use mobile phones on campus.
5. As the principal speaker for your school in a debate on the topic “Democracy is the worst system of governence for Africa”. Write your argument for or against the motion.
