What a Shame? Crass Incompetence! – Kwesi Pratt Blasts African Leaders
Kwesi Pratt Jnr., Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, has slammed the Akufo-Addo government for continuing to blame the economic crisis in Ghana on the Russia/Ukraine war.
The leaders have discussed how the war between the two countries has harmed Ghana’s economy in a variety of sectors, including agriculture.
On a daily basis, government communicators try to explain to Ghanaians why the Russia/Ukraine conflict is a major contributory cause of their problems.
But, according to Mr. Pratt, blaming Ukraine is dishonorable.
Regarding the agricultural challenges, Mr. Pratt stated that some leaders continue to blame Ukraine, claiming that there is a food crisis in Ghana as a result of the war.
This is absurd to him, as he explained that Ghana has the arable land to produce food.
” . . If you have 40 percent of the arable lands of the world and you have to go to Ukraine for food, are you not ashamed? . . . Why are our leaders crying that we can’t find food because of Ukraine war? What a shame? What an admission of failure; crass incompetence?”, he wondered how the nation is expected to develop.
