WhatsApp Introduces 3 New Security Features: Scammers & Hackers in Big Trouble

Scammers and Hackers who operate on WhatsApp are in serious trouble because WhatsApp users can now chill since the messaging app has introduced three (3) New WhatsApp Security Features. 

This will make the WhatApping community safer and more secure for users.

WhatsApp Introduces Three (3) New Security Features

Meta’s WhatsApp has seen the introduction of Account Protect, Device Verification, and Automatic Security Codes all aimed at making the app safer and secured.

Account Protect: To ensure hackers and scammers do not jump into your account for their illegal acts, if you are changing your WhatsApp phone number or moving the number to a new device, the app will demand that you confirm your old number. This is one of the new security features being introduced. It will notify the rightful owner of the app of an attempt to move the account.  It is important that users read messages or prompts carefully to ensure they do not in a rush approve access to their accounts.

Device Verification: The app set up checks do not require your involvement. This allows uninterrupted use even if your device is hacked. This is to guard against mobile device viruses that might abuse your phone without your consent. This will also stop any illegal attempt to transmit messages via WhatsAp

Automatic Security Codes: Users who have fears about security can manually verify users using our security code feature. WhatsApp has added a security feature based on “Key Transparency” to make this process more user – friendly. When you click on the “Encrypt” tab, this option right away affirms secure connections. It ensures that your private words remain private. For further security, WhatsApp also suggests turning on end – to – end encryption and two-step authentication.

KEY TRANSPARENCY (KT)

KT, a new crypto – graphic safety function from WhatsApp, quickly checks to encrypt connections without asking for extra user input. The end – to – end encrypted trust that is public to all users is boosted by this feature. In order to assist the KT’s growth, WhatsApp has also made public an open – source path called Auditable Key Directory (AKD). This allows anyone to check audit proofs of the directory’s quality.

Account Protect: If you need to switch your WhatsApp account to a new device – we want to double check that it’s really you. From now on, we may ask you on your old device to verify that you want to take this step as an extra security check. This feature can help alert you to an unauthorized attempt to move your account to another device.

Device Verification: Mobile device malware is one of the biggest threats to people’s privacy and security today because it can take advantage of your phone without your permission and use your WhatsApp to send unwanted messages. To help prevent this, we have added checks to help authenticate your account – with no action needed from you – and better protect you if your device is compromised. Automatic Security Codes: Our most security conscious users have always been able to take advantage of our security code verification feature, which helps ensure you are chatting with the intended recipient. You can check this manually by going to the encryption tab under a contact’s info. To make this process easier and more accessible to everyone, we’re rolling out a security feature based on a process called “Key Transparency” that allows you to automatically verify that you have a secure connection. What it means for you is that when you click on the encryption tab, you’ll be able to verify right away that your personal conversation is secured.
