Why BECE Candidates Must Resolve Mock Questions After Every Mock
Mock Examinations are very important components for students preparing for any Examination, including the BECE. Candidates who take mock examinations, however, need to do extra work after the mock if they are to get the full benefit of the mock. One thing to do as a student preparing for the BECE is to get the marking schemes for the various mocks and study them.
These mock marking schemes help you know the answers the examiner expected you to write. In addition to that, there are other useful things BECE candidates can do with their mock papers if they want to do well in the main BECE examination.

Let us take a look at Why BECE Candidates Must Resolve Mock Questions After Every Mock
Why Use Past Mock Papers?
- Mock questions test the readiness of candidates for the main examination.
- Mock examinations help to access the level of understanding of students for the various topics.
- It offers teachers the chance to know the weaknesses and strengths of learners and to help the candidates to work on their weaknesses ahead of the BECE proper.
- Every mock examination assists candidates to practice answering likely examination questions and getting used to what is expected of the candidates in the main examination.
- The mocks help teachers and schools to cover all likely examination questions and to test candidates’ capabilities.
For candidates and teachers preparing for the BECE, it is important that candidates and their teachers take a critical look at topics and questions that students are accessed on during the various mocks. Of great importance is the need for students to solve all the Section B questions they did not choose or solve during the mock examination. This is because, very often, students only choose questions they can answer during the mock. The questions not chosen need to be solved after the mock. Where the candidate is unable to solve these questions, he or she needs to revisit the topics the questions were set from and revise.
A good revision of the questions not solved during the mock and those the candidate solved but did not do well in will help the candidate get ready to attempt such questions in case they appear in the main BECE examination.
