2023 BECE graduates will be selecting a total of 11 senior high schools in the ongoing school selection process instead of the usual six schools.
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that any student who is not placed in any of the 11 schools selected will have the opportunity to do self-placement.
2023 School Selection Process
The 2023 school selection exercise will begin on Monday, 18th September, 2023. This exercise will take place in various Regional and district Education Directorates and Schools.
Parents and guidance are particularly advised to take a keen interest in the selection of school processes and be involved for a smooth placement this year. Once you have selected your schools, GES will open a mobile short code to help students confirm and verify their selections.
- First, you can dial *899*88# and follow the instructions to verify choices made via USSD.
- Second, you can confirm and verify your school selection on the verification portal https://csspsverify.com
- Once you are on the page, you have to Enter your index number & date of birth to see your selections. The verification and confirmation has commenced.
NB: Candidates should note that this is not a new process of school selection and therefore schools cannot be changed except there is an error that needs to be rectified.

HOW TO DO SELF PLACEMENT.
1. Visit the school placement portal https://cssps.gov.gh/
2. Go through the placement, check your placement and if you are not placed, you will be directed to the self-placement portal to do the self-placement.
3. Wait to be directed to the self-placement module.
4. On this page, select the region you want to school in and then your preferred school from the ones available.
4. Once you do that, click on the accommodation option and choose day or boarding.
5. Once you are through, click confirm, wait for the free SHS self-placement to be successful, and print out the placement sheets.
