The Russian Aviation Authority has confirmed that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Wagner chief who led the mutiny in June was on the jet in Tver region that got crashed.
The Wagner Paramilitary chief who in June this year begun an armed mutiny, Yevgeny Prigozhin, according to the Russian aviation was on the business private jet that crashed on Wednesday night near Moscow.
Ten people with Yevgeny Prigozhin inclusive were killed in this plane crash. The confirmation of Yevgeny Prigozhin on board of the crashed private jet was made by the Russian Aviation Authority, Rosaviatsia.
The ideal cause of this plane crash at the time of the crash was clearly unknown. Per reports, it is believed that since Yevgeny Prigozhin’s feud or brouhaha with the Russian military and the failed mutiny in June that he led, it is a revenge from the Russian state/military.
The Wagner group which has its own media channels is said to believe that, the private jet was crashed because of fired missile from the Russian air defence.
In the video that was sighted clearly showed that the private jet was trailing with smoke before it crashed totally to the ground and ended up inn flames. It has also been reported that the private jet crashed in the Tver region while flying through St Petersburg and Moscow.
The tail number of the private jet was RA-02795. The crashed private jet, according to reports is under the sanctions of the US since 2019 because of its linkage to Prigozhin. This crashed plane was used by the presumed dead Wagner chief, Yevgeny Prigozhin during his failed mutiny on June 27.
Earlier this week, a video was released by the presumed dead Wagner chief, Yevgeny Prigozhin claiming to be in Africa. Now, it is not clear when this particular video was taken.
