Sixteen teenage Obogu Saviour Church members tragically died in a gruesome accident on the Juaso portion of the Accra-Kumasi highway.
The victims were returning from a weekend church retreat when their minibus collided directly with a fuel truck.
A mass burial was organized in Obogu as the community and family lamented the tragic loss of the youth.
Fifteen members of the Saviour Church who died in a horrific traffic accident on Monday, July 28, 2025, have been buried, bringing the agonizing chapter to an end while the community continues to grieve their dear ones.
According to accounts, all 15 deceased were laid to rest during a mass burial ceremony in Obogu, an Ashanti Region town.

Videos from the burial ceremony show that all the fatalities were buried in one enormous hole, with members of the community dressed in black and red funeral gowns, causing tremendous sadness throughout the area.
Hundreds of people attended the funeral, including family members, students, government figures, and sympathisers. The Obogu community is mourning what many regard as the darkest day in the history of the Saviour Church.
Elders, chiefs, and pastors are extending sympathy to grieving families while also warning drivers to remain careful and avoid complacency on the roadways.

The tragic tragedy occurred around 2:30 PM on Monday, July 28, 2025, on the Juaso portion of the Accra-Kumasi highway, when a Ford Transit mini-bus conveying the youth collided head-on with a fuel tanker.
Eyewitnesses reported that the tanker driver lost control while overtaking another vehicle. The crash ruined the bus altogether. Several bodies were trapped, necessitating the assistance of emergency services and residents, who struggled for hours to extract the deceased from the ruins.
The victims were returning from a youth retreat over the weekend when the sad tragedy happened. The majority of them ranged in age from 10 to 25, and they were all members of the Obogu branch of the Saviour Church’s youth ministry. Among the victims were two children of the head pastor.
