The crime was carried out at Fanmilk, a suburb of Ablekuma in the Greater Accra Region. The evil act led to the killing of a police constable Calistus Amoah. Per police reports, the armed robbers took away a sum of 145,163.08 at the crime scene after gunning down the police officer at the post.
The attack occurred when the bullion van made a stop at a fuel station, presumably to purchase fuel. It was during this moment that the assailants attacked the vehicle.
