2024 BECE registration details released by GES

The anticipated 2024 BECE registration details were released by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
In a statement dated March 1, 2024, issued by the Acting Director of Schools and Instructions Division, Prince C. Agyemang-Duah on behalf of the Director-General, Ghana Education Service (GES) outlined subjects that are to be registered under mandatory, elective, and optional categories were outlined.
Per the procedures for the 2024 BECE registration, schools are to register only students in JHS3 who were promoted to their final year last academic year.
Schools are to complete the biodata registration of their candidates and furnish GES and WAEC with the data in the manner required.
During phase one of the 2024 BECE registration, the details to be furnished to the GES examination units for onward transfer to WAEC are as follows:
- Names of candidates: Names should be correctly spelled
- Candidates’ date of birth
- Age at the time of BECE
- Gender
- Form of disability, if any
- Core subjects (mandatory)
- Elective subject registered
- Optional subject registered
- Photo album of candidates in each school
- Payment of the examination registration fee in full is based on the number of candidates taking the exam in all private schools.
- Contact person’s details in case of challenges.

What are the subjects students will be registered for during the 2024 BECE registration?
Mandatory subjects
- English Language
- Mathematics
- General Science
- Social Studies
- Religious and Moral Education
- Career Technology
- Creative Arts and Design.
Additionally, candidates are required to choose an elective subject, Ghanaian Language, based on their studied language.
Optional subjects available ;
- French
- Arabic
- Computing.
When is the 2024 BECE?
The 2024 BECE begins on Monday, July 8th, 2024, and ends on Friday, July 12th, 2024.
