We are in a new year, and WAEC, in collaboration with the GES and MoE, will organize the first-ever BECE for junior high school students who were introduced to the 2019 curriculum. These candidates will be the first batch of students to write what has become known as the new BECE.
Check out the following 2024 BECE Update for schools, parents, and candidates.
#1. The Ghana Education Service has hinted at the 2024 BECE being compressed into a 5-subject examination. Our independent analysis of the possibility of this is captured in our detailed story. Merging 9 BECE subjects into 5 or 6 for 2024 BECE: (Likely outcome)
#2. The 2024 BECE, according to the GES timetable, will be administered to candidates in July 2024. WAEC often organizes the BECE in the first or second week of the exam month. This means that the most likely examination dates are either the 1st to 5th of July or the 8th to 12th of July 2024.
#3. WAEC is expected to release the 2024 official BECE timetable and exact date after the GES and MoE have finalized decisions on the intention to compress the BECE into 5 subjects.
#4. Parents, schools, and teachers who want their wards to prepare very well for the 2024 BECE should consider enrolling their students in the 2024 BECE home mock. Schools and teachers can also buy the tough and well-set BECE examinations in MS Word format for their internal examinations.

#5. Parents and schools that intend to register JHS1 and JHS2 students for the 2024 BECE are advised to be extra careful since the GES will go all out to apply punitive measures. Such students only stand the chance of being registered for the BECE if they are made to jump classes at least a term or so to the BECE and not an instant absence from school as the BECE draws nearer.
