Ghana Education News | Odd News| Carpenter abducts and defiles a 14-year-old girl, gets 7 years jailed term.
Her Honor Mercy Adei-Kotei, the Koforidua Circuit Court “B” judge, sentenced the 30-year-old carpenter to seven (7) years in jail with hard labor.
First-degree defiler Keteku Enock Yaw was convicted based on his own guilty plea.
His plea of not guilty to the second count of kidnapping, on the other hand, indicates that he will be reappearing in court to complete the trial.
During the case’s first hearing on September 7, 2021, the prosecuting officer Chief Inspector Richmond Keelson informed the court the complainant, who lives with the victim, had gone to Nkawkaw on August 27, 2021, to attend a funeral and left the victim in the care of her sister.
The victim had been missing since August 28, 2021, when she arrived on August 30, 2021.
During the search of the whereabouts of the victim, her dress was found hanging on a dry line on the corridor of the convict’s room in the same vicinity.
Knocking on the door drew the convict’s attention out of the chamber.
It wasn’t until they forced their way in that they saw the victim laying on a bed that they realized what had happened.
He was taken into custody and turned over to DOVVSU, where he is now being held.
“I had sexual relations with him,” she added, adding that he would lock them up every time he left.
As part of his plea agreement, the prisoner acknowledged to only having sexual relations with the victim twice.
According to a police medical report given to the victim, the victim had been defiled.
