2022 BECE Starts 17th October: Check Strong Warnings from MoE & WAEC
The 2022 BECE starts on 17th October and ends on 21st October 2022, however, ahead of the examination, strong warnings from MoE & WAEC have been delivered to candidates.
The 32nd edition of the Junior High School leaving examination will be administered by WAEC to some 18,501 schools that will participate in the examination and in all are presenting 552,276 candidates for the five-day examination to be administered in 2023 examination centres across the country.
The examination will be administered to school and private candidates. A total of, 1132 private candidates will also sit the same examination. According to the data provided by WAEC, the 2022 candidates expected to take the examination increased by 1060 (6.09%) compared to the 2021 batch.

The Ministry of Education and WAEC has cautioned candidates against all forms of examination malpractices.
“The Council is advising candidates to be focused and be on the alert for the activities of “examination social media racketeers” whose primary aim is to make money through deception.
The Council further cautioned candidates not to involve themselves in any form of malpractice, such as bringing mobile phones and other foreign materials to the examination hall,
Again, they are to note that, should they involve in any form of collusion in the exam gall, it will be detected during marking. What this means is that if candidates decide to copy each other and share the answers, WAEC will be able to know and punish candidates accordingly. WAEC, therefore, called on all candidates to observe the rules governing the examination.

The GES and the Ministry of Education on the other hand called on invigilators and staff of the Council to do their work as required of them. They called on the security officers to deal with anyone attempting to compromise the examination.

The Examination officially starts with the Social Studies papers 2 and 1 in the morning at 9:30 am, followed by the Information and Communication (ICT) Paper 2 and 1 in the afternoon from 1: 00 pm.
