WAEC 2023 WASSCE results release date is out and we have all the latest information right here on Ghana Education News.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the provisional results of the 2023 WASSCE for school candidates will be released online in the second week of December 2023. The Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, confirmed that with ongoing processing and verification, the results are expected to be available on https://ghana.waecdirect.org by December 14th, 2023.
The release of the 2023 WASSCE results for school candidates will allow candidates who pass the examination to start their university or tertiary education in January 2024. It will also permit universities, colleges of education and nursing, and other public and private tertiary institutions to complete their admission processes for the intake of level 100 students who graduated from secondary school in 2023.
Candidates who fail the WASSCE or whose results are finally withheld by WAEC will not be able to access tertiary education in any institution.
This year, a total of 447,204 candidates, including 211,834 males and 235,370 females, participated in the examination. This represents a 5.8% increase compared to the 2022 figure of 422,883. The exam was administered across 975 public and private senior high schools and 834 examination centres.
Candidates had the opportunity to choose from 60 subjects, including 4 core and 56 electives. The examination commenced on July 31st, 2023, with the Visual Art Project work and concluded on September 26th, 2023
How to check out your WASSCE results online
1. Go to the WASSCE portal for result checking.
2. Type your Index Number here.
3. Select on the Exam Type (such as WASSCE SC).
4. Choose on the examination year, such as 2023.
5. Type in the Voucher’s Serial Number.
6. Enter the 12-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN), such as 012345678912, that appears on your voucher.
7. Verify your Exam Year and Index Number. This is to make sure the information you submitted for your exam is accurate.
8. Select “Submit” and watch the popup window for the information to appear. It could take a few minutes to complete.
