Dr. Bawumia Implicated In Anas’ Exposé. The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been implicated in the galamsey economy film. The Minister of State in charge of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen, explained that before an investor can invest in the country, the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, must be given an appearance fee of USD 200, 000. Charles Adu Boahen mentioned something about the financing of the NPP 2020 campaign money.
“You mean, like appearance fees and stuff? I mean he, himself (the Vice President), if you give him some (USD) 200,000 or something as a token, as thank you, appreciation, that’s fine. He’s not really, he’s not really (like) that. All he needs is to worry about his campaign money in 2020(SIC)” , Charles Adu Boahen revealed.
Meanwhile, a staffer at the office of the Vice President, Krobea Kwabena Asante, has mounted a spirited defense for the Vice President.
“Charles Adu Boahen says Veep is not corrupt and does not like money and suggested to the people that if DMB helps them to invest in Ghana they should thank him with 200k USD. He said Veep is not really like that meaning he is not money conscious and does not demand money to get investors into Ghana. If Veep was corrupt Adu Boahen would not have suggested that veep is worried about how to fund his campaign. For a Vice President to be worried about how to fund his campaign, means he is not corrupt and has no loose money anywhere.
“Regardless of Adu Boahen’s behavior, he made a genuine case here which is a fact. Bawumia is not corrupt and will never be corrupt.”, Krobea Asante explained.
