EPA CEO Denies Pursuing Personal Gains with Bawumia

- EPA CEO Henry Kwabena Kokofu Debunks Claims of Personal Gains While Supporting Dr. Bawumia in NPP’s 2024 Presidential Race
Henry Kwabena Kokofu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and a dedicated member of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team has refuted allegations that he and his colleagues are following the Vice President solely to secure personal gains.
Kokofu, who also serves as a polling agent in the Ashanti Region for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, expressed his strong belief in the Vice President’s potential to win the upcoming presidential election within the New Patriotic Party on November 4.
During an appearance on Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo,” Kokofu revealed that he had taken a seven-day leave from his official duties to actively participate in the campaign. He cautioned the party’s delegates, members, and supporters to maintain a sense of decorum in their reactions during and after the election.
“If you love Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party, let your words and celebrations be in moderation. It is a path of reconciliation,” he advised.

Kokofu emphasized the importance of avoiding violence and other negative activities that could harm the New Patriotic Party’s image as they approach the 2024 elections. He also discredited claims that those supporting Dr. Bawumia are doing so in an attempt to secure positions in his potential government.
“If anyone tells you that those following Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are doing so for their own interests, to secure a job, there is no truth in it,” Kokofu stated. He highlighted the unpredictability of job security, as an appointing authority could change its mind and terminate employment.
Furthermore, he questioned the notion that one should be free to choose who they support during a campaign tour, but that same respect should be extended to colleagues who choose to support a different candidate.
In his closing remarks, Kokofu emphasized the need for unity and urged party members to focus on promoting the party’s interests as a whole rather than pursuing personal gains. He encouraged all party members to engage in a positive and constructive campaign that will strengthen the party’s position in the lead-up to the 2024 elections.
