Ghana’s 2022 WASSCE starts with Social Studies on Monday, 5th September across all centres in Ghana. The Social Studies paper which is a core subject will be administered by WAEC as the first official paper for school candidates.
Data on candidates available to Ghana Education News indicates that a total of 422,883 final-year senior high school (SHS) students across private and public schools in the country will write this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates tomorrow.
Again, 977 schools comprising 673 public schools and 304 private schools are taking part in the examination, which will enable candidates who pass to enter tertiary institutions. Some 775 supervisors will be deployed along with security officers to ensure the examination is conducted according to the rules outlined by WAEC.

Three days after the Social Studies paper, the candidate will write the English Language, another core subject on 8th September 2022 to bring the week to an end.
Ahead of the two core subjects scheduled for the 5th and 8th of September, WAEC has cautioned candidates, schools, and head teachers who are planning with the help of syndicates to cheat during the WASSCE 2022 examination.

WAEC cautioned against attempts by school authorities to restrict Access to School Compounds for Monitoring Purposes, Smuggling of Mobile Phones into Examination Halls by Candidates, attempts by students and their accomplices to engage in impersonation, and schools that have devised strategies to engage the activities of Exam Leaking Syndicate to cheat in schools.
According to WAEC, all persons caught will be dealt with according to the law and the punitive actions include the cancellation of examination results or the entire results of candidates and schools depending on the magnitude of the offense.

Ghanaeducation.org is therefore calling on all WASSCE candidates to follow the examination rules and not jeopardize their future by falling for the examination cheating temptations. Supervisors and teachers should also operate within the ambit of the law and not to risk their profession, occupation, and daily bread by helping candidates to cheat in the examination.
