To acquire an International Driving Permit, the applicant must personally contact DVLA.
REQUIREMENTS BY THE DVLA
- The Presence of applicant is required at the Premises of the DVLA to commence the process.
- The applicant must present a valid drivers license/cover note to show he or she is the owner of the license.
- Applicant must provide Two (2) recent passport size pictures to the DVLA
PROCEDURE
- The DVLA will have to Authenticate the applicant’s Driver’s Licence as genuine
- Applicant will have to Pay approved fees to the DVLA
- Filling of forms filled with accurate information
- Applicant will be tested on all Road Signs and Markings, general questions on the country for which the permit is to be issued
- If applicant passes the test and meets all requirements, he or she will be Issued an International Driving Permit

(An International Driving Permit is valid for 1 year from the date of issue). The applicant will be required to renew the permit every other year.
