Here are some secret tricks I used to pass my BECE years ago. Following and practicing these tricks will help you in the long run. Do you want to score 6 ones in the BECE? Here is actually how to pass 2025 BECE with ease.
The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is an annual examination organized by WAEC Ghana that tests final-year students at the JHS level. Their final examination will take them to the Senior High School level.
How to Pass 2025 BECE
You keep wondering how I managed to score 6 ones in my BECE after I studied for only three days? Here’s the trick:
1. Have enough recess time
Everyone loves to play, right? Think of it, what do you do most that makes you happy? Is it playing, or watching funny videos on the internet? If so, please don’t stop, and go ahead and do those when you’re stressed. Make sure to have enough fun and joy to ease your mind off the stress. After the fun, now you have a fresh mind to grasp something new. I constantly kept my mental health checked during my time and this helped me along the line I was able to think freely, and it was awesome.
2. Drawing of personal timetable?
The fun part of it all, I never had a personal timetable, rather I had a priority table. I prioritised my core subjects (English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science and Social Studies) first over my electives. Although, I further prioritised my electives in order. (ICT to BDT to Twi to French) and now with the addition of Career Tech and Creative Arts it makes things easier. Hence, learn the most important ones first and make sure it sticks, and you can explain to a layman or a child to even understand.
3. Chew and Pour?
The era of chew and pour is still alive. Even in tertiary I still do chew and pour but the interesting thing? Mine sticks and I remember them. Chew and pour is more effective at dawn. At that time your mind is fresh and when you chew it sticks, but you must understand and be able to apply no matter how the questions are twisted. Hence, the dawn trick should be practiced.
4. Past questions
Past questions are past questions, but they serve as a map or reference point for any examination. For this 2025 BECE, I urge candidates to solve past questions from 2014-2024 which is a ten years gap. Any years below 2014 should be ignored. Further topics will be dropped prior to the examinations.
Before I proceed, Education News Consult have an ongoing monthly Home Mock service that aims to guide and help candidates prepare for the 2025 BECE. If interested, kindly register through this link (Register Here).
5. Learning objectives
Another powerful and overlooked part of every text book by students is the learning objectives section. This section draws your attention to what you are supposed to learn in that section. I urge all candidates to use this strategy in these last times, as it helped me secure my 6 ones. This will avoid you from learning chaff.
6. Prayer
Again, the underrated tool for every examination. Prayer is an ideal tool that can direct you to learn topics and solve questions that will drop exactly in the BECE, and I am a testament of it.
After all, it’s important to have your own personal tricks as well, but these are the tricks I used that helped me. I wish you all the best in your coming examinations.
