Alan Kyeremanten, leader of Movement for Change, and former Minister of Trade and Industries, has tout youth leadership using himself as a example when he was age 22. In his recent post on Twitter(X), Alan Kyeremanten revealed that he was the youngest manager in the history of Unilever at age 22.
He added that he rose through the ranks of the company, making him the youngest manager in the company’s history.
In a post shared on X platform, Alan Kyerematen said that the experience working in the role taught him the incredible potential of young minds when well harnessed.
“My journey began as a junior manager at Unilever Ghana when I was just 22, and I became the youngest manager in the company’s history. That experience taught me the incredible potential of young minds,” he wrote on October 9.
He further pledged that when given the nod to become Ghana’s president in the upcoming 2024 election, his appointments will entail 60 percent of young talents aged between 23 and 45.
“As the very first order of business when elected, I pledge that 60% of all my appointments will be reserved for young talents aged 23-45. Together, we’ll transform Ghana’s future, hand in hand with its future leaders—the youth,” he added

Alan Kyerematen attended Adisadel College for his secondary education, entering the institution at the record age of nine years after starting at then Asokore Mampong Secondary School now Kumasi Academy.
He attended the prestigious Achimota School afterward for his sixth form education. He proceeded to the University of Ghana, Legon for a bachelor’s degree in Economics. Kyerematen also holds a law degree, LLB from the Ghana Law School at the same university where he qualified as a barrister-at-Law.
He was called to the bar in Ghana and is a practicing attorney-at-law in Ghana. In addition, he is a Hubert Humphrey fellow of the School of Management at the University of Minnesota, U.S., having completed one year of management studies under the Fulbright Fellowship program at that institution.

Kyerematen has been a leading stalwart and key strategist of the NPP since its inception in 1992. He is a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and has also served on the highest decision-making bodies of the NPP that shaped the Party’s strategic direction both in opposition and in Government.
On 11 January 2023, Alan John Kyerematen officially announced his intention to contest the NPP’s flagbearership and underwent a successful vetting process on Monday, July 3. On August 26th 2023, the former Trade Minister placed third with 95 votes, representing 10.29% of total votes cast qualifying him for the New Patriotic Party presidential primaries in November. However, he took to social media on the 5th of September to announce his decision to resign from contesting his party’s national delegate congress which was slated for November
He is currently not a member of the New Patriotic Party. He resigned from the party(NPP) on Monday, 25th September, 2023. He has formed his party known as Movement for Change.
