I Will Never Pay Tithe In That Church Again – Young Man Angrily Says
Do you trust your Religion? Can your pastor and elders help you in times of need? Do we actually worship God in the Church, or do we worship the leaders there?
A young man has shared his encounter with t a pastor and his elders on how rude and wicked they were towards him.
READ THE POST BELOW;
“One day I went to a church elder for help. Earlier that evening, he preached and said the youths should be bold to ask the elders for opportunities. So I went to this elder to put before him that I need a job so that I can help my steps with my little stipends. This man forgot he preached that we should ask them for jobs, help, and any other things that can build our paths with God. This man said, “I don’t have any help for you, I can’t assist you, moreover I need to help myself, no one in the church can help you so go and pray, pay tithes and offering.”
A colleague also needed help, so he went to another elder, and he said to the poor boy “can your lazy mother use the sales of banku to cater for you, I can’t assist with your fees. The welfare money is for some people who are closer to GOD”
I went to the pastor to tell him how the youths are leaving the church, he said: “let them go they’ll come back when they grow after all we can’t help them financially, but we teach them how to fish.”
It was like a dream to me. I asked “ah is it not the same GOD these leaders worship that I also worship? The church is a very big Pentecostal church in Ghana. I walked with an elder for close to 6 years who never found the need to mold me but to criticize behind my back. One day I realized GOD is the only one who can help human beings and not man. So I stopped the church and started reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. I was serious about it. I wanted to find a particular scripture that said “GOD created a church or religion,”
I found no scripture. I started leaning on GOD and understanding HIS words. I put them into practice. I realized I was worshipping the church and humans, not GOD. My breakthrough and greatest help came from GOD through a staunch Buddhist who didn’t know me.
Life is cyclical and most help comes from strangers and not familiar faces, family, or friends.
Today I can buy instruments, even help build the church auditorium, buy chairs or even assist the church, but I won’t. I was walking around the church and then an elder met me and said I should try to bring my tithe to support the church. I told him I can’t am I wrong?
Am I wrong, I told him, My penny will never help any pastor, church, or elder. I will never do that. I’ll rather help the poor in the zongos, I will go on the streets and pay my tithe there, will assist my friends in need, will pay fees for the needy, and share my wealth with those who need it not the church. The church has nothing for most Christians, yet many are too blind to see that the church is not the temple, but our bodies are the church. Was I wrong because it seems they are really on my neck even though I’m not a member any more but a staunch believer of Christ and HIS teachings?
The same way the church treated me, I treat them the same, and I’ll never waste my money on them but rather on the helpless people. Some Christians that I looked up to didn’t help me. My fellow brothers and sisters in Christ denied me when I needed them, but a Buddhist and an Atheist came in for me with unfailing love.”
