HISTORY

Scottish Missionaries set up the school in March 1927. In March 1927, Krobo Girls’ Senior High School opened as a Middle School for girls. It was started by women who were Scottish Missionaries. In 1944, as part of the government’s accelerated plan, a two-year teacher training college for women was added to the girls’ school as an experiment.

In 1951, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana took over the college and turned it into a Certificate B Teacher Training College for women.

In 1962, the two-year teacher training college became a four-year certificate, A Teacher Training College for women. In September 1973, the Krobo Girls Middle School closed, and the training college was turned into a secondary school for girls as part of the Ministry of Education’s consolidation of the teacher education program.
