KA Technologies contract, a BIG SHAME to leaders of GNAT and NAGRAT
The revelations made by Innovative Teachers and All Teachers Alliance Ghana (ATAG) after suing the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, K.A technologies, and others is a big shame to the weak leaders of GNAT and NAGRAT who failed to do due diligence. Teachers have expressed disappointment in the big teacher unions and their failure to detect what the young teacher unions have discovered. It si shocking that none of the bigger unions saw anything wrong with the one teacher one laptop programme till now.
This is the general opinion gathered by Ghanaeducation.org after the suit brought against the key institutions leading the one teacher one laptop programme. It has come to light that, K.A technologies does not have the legal capacity to do business or operate in Ghana since it has not registered with the Registrar General Department and Ghana Standards Authority.
The revelations about the One Teacher One Laptop captured in the news item No data on KA Technologies – Registrar General and GSA seems to have angered a cross-section of teachers in Ghana.
The basic rules and requirements for doing business with the government of Ghana require that, for an institution such as K.A technologies Ltd to even win a government contract, it must register as a business with the registrar general prior to its operations, such businesses must also register with the Ghana Procurement Authority by using its official registration documents obtained from the Registrar Generals Department and other state institutions such as the Ghana Revenue Authority, etc.
However, from the information made public by Innovative Teachers and All Teachers Alliance Ghana (ATAG), K.A technologies have not even registered with the Registrar General’s Department which technically means it can not apply to win a government contract to supply laptops to public school teachers.
KA Technologies contract is a BIG SHAME to leaders of GNAT and NAGRAT
Teachers have reacted to the revelations by the two teacher unions.
A teacher shares his/her opinion and writes…
Greedy Leaders…How can a firm that is not accredited by a Registrar General and Ghana standards authority operate in a country like Ghana? Hmmmmmm. This KA Technologies might be owned by some leaders of this country.
A company that doesn’t have any records of being a manufacturer is ordered to manufacture laptops for professional teachers. Ah.
So if not for the effort of the Innovative teachers union and ATAG which happen to be the youngest among the teacher unions we have in Ghana, we as teachers wouldn’t have noticed this rots.
Why did GNAT and NAGRAT applaud fiasco move like this?
And more so why have they kept mute on such a matter which is at the heart of their members?
A mother without any motherhood or parental care isn’t a good mother.
GNAT and NAGRAT should support this fight so that teachers in Ghana will be given the best.
Why would they choose to ride in V8s and give teachers what is known from the onset to be bad?
They did the same with the RLG firm on the same laptops issues and now we can’t fingerprint even one of such laptops.
Even teachers who had connections at the various education offices in Ghana and bought some of the laptops at cheap prices regretted it because the machines broke down in a short time.
They want to give us the product with another branded name.
Why can’t they provide teachers with well-branded products like Dell, Compaq, IBM, Toshiba, Samsung, LG, Acer, and other good brands?
Fake leaders will have in Ghana. May God forgive them.

I have time without number said that GNAT and NAGRAT have both lost sense of leadership since time immemorial. Those unions do not have leader who can think. Hey! It is about time we told them enough is enough! My colleagues we cannot continue this way. Can’t you see that we have been taken for granted for long time? Mr NAGRAT President, we need explanation to the matter.
