Toll Boots After 2022 Budget: Adenta-Dodowa Terrible Traffic Will Not Change
NEWS UPDATE: Toll Boots After 2022 Budget: Adenta-Dodowa Terrible Traffic Will Not Change.
Ghanaeducation.org can confirm that toll operators on the Adenta-Dodowa road have brought to an end their toll collection services as of midnight yesterday.
Cars traveling from Adenta to Dodowa and vice versa are driving freely across the abandoned boots with no workers on sight today.
All one sees is the boots and other structures previously occupied by the toll collectors. This move may look good but not for those who use the Adenta-Dodowa.
The automated road blocking poles that lift after a driver makes a toll payment for the vehicle to continue its journey have all been deactivated leading to the free flow of traffic on the Adenta-Dodowa road.
The flow of traffic on this road known for its notorious traffic has not improved significantly today. The traffic is still what it is. The vehicular traffic on this major road is caused to the single-lane road and not the toll boot on this stretch. Again, traffic on the road is caused by the increased and new settlement along the road. These new communities have different roads that join the main single-lane road hence compounding the traffic.
The roads from adjourning the communities which link to the main road and should help reduce traffic are in very bad shape, very bumpy with gutters which are nicely described as potholes.

Traffic on this road will continue to worsen if no innovative ways are deployed to deal with it. The expansion of the main Adenta-Dodowa road into a dual or two-lane road is urgently needed however, this will still not deal with the traffic problem giving the fast pace at which the Kpone Katamanso constituency is developing into a modern city.
Roads leading into and out of all communities along the Adenta-Dodowa need to be constructed to ensure commuting drivers do not necessarily have to use the main road to get to Madina and the Central business district of Accra.

Anything shy of these would create even more serious inconvenience for inhabitants and the Adenta-Dodowa traffic will not change. Currently, it takes on average 3 hours to travel from Dodowa to Adenta when it should be at most a 1-hour journey.
