Let’s take a look at seven most useful Short codes for teachers (GES)and other Ghanaian workers. These short codes enable one to access various services via mobile phone.

They include the following;

1. Tier 1 *711*9#. SSNIT

A mandatory contributory scheme with monthly contributions of 13.5% (11% towards monthly pensions and 2.5% contribution to NHIS) on the basic salary of all employees. Tier 1 is a defined benefit scheme and contributions are fully tax-exempt and are managed by SSNIT

The contribution is managed by SSNIT. The Second Tier is a defined contributory Occupational Pension Scheme mandatory for workers with 5% contribution made on behalf of members

The GNAT Provident Fund Scheme is a Group Personal Pension Tier-3 Scheme that is open to all GNAT (Ghana National Association of Teachers) members who want to save in a tax-efficient manner towards a comfortable retirement. This scheme is owned by the members themselves, making it a powerful tool for building retirement wealth.

  2. Enter 1 to register for the Provident Fund.
  3. Enter your Staff ID number.
  4. If you are being assisted by an agent, enter the agent’s reference code. Otherwise, press 0 to skip.
  5. Provide your personal details, including your full name, date of birth, and phone number.
  6. Enter your desired contribution rate, which is a percentage of your basic salary.
  7. Specify one beneficiary name.
  8. Create a 4-digit PIN for added security.
  9. You will receive an alert when your registration is successful.

  2. Select the bundle you want
  3. Enter the beneficiary’s phone number
  4. Select 1 to confirm or 2 to cancel
  5. Check your phone for a prompt to approve the transaction
  6. You’ll receive a message for payment
