Mohammed Kudus scores first West Ham goal: VIDEO
The Ghanaian international star Mohammed Kudus has scored his first West Ham goal against Backa Topola. The vital goal for the club came in their turnaround against Serbian side Backa Topola in the Europa League action on Thursday night.
West Ham on the night went down by a goal early in the second half of the encounter after Angelo Ogbonna was caught napping at the back which offered a glorious chance to Petar Stanic who fired Backa Topola into the lead.
The goal shocked the fans of West Ham United fans however, the team rose to the occasion and found the needed response 66th minute courtesy Nemanja Petrovic own goal which was deflected in from Mohammed Kudus’s final touch of the ball.
Mohammed Kudus finally scored his first West Ham goal when he headed in from James Ward-Prowse’ corner.
Not long after that, Ward-Prowse turned provider again as his corner from the left found Tomas Soucek’s, whose glancing header put the Hammers 3-1 up.
Despite Backa Topola’s impressive energy and efforts, West Ham’s quality eventually prevailed, and they secured all three points in the group.
Ward-Prowse continued his impressive start to the season, scoring his second goal and assisting his fifth in five matches.
West Ham’s other two opponents in Group A are German side Freiburg and Greek outfit Olympiacos, as they look to add another piece of European silverware to their cabinet.
