Temporary Foreign Worker Program – What Is It About?
Canada’s New Temporary Foreign Worker Program is done to recruit foreign workers in fields with shortages in the country. This new program also gives an opportunity for verified employers o recruit temporary foreign workers.
This new program does not allow foreign workers to live forever in Canada. Foreign workers who transit to Canada through this program will reside in the country for a specific time.
Temporary Foreign Worker Program – Who Is Eligible?
Foreign workers can apply for this program, if they meet the following criteria:
English or French Language Proficiency: Foreign workers who are interested in this route to Canada needs to prove that he or she is proficient in the English or French Language.
Have A Job Offer: You need to have a job offer from a certified employer in Canada.
Residence Permit: Applicants interested in this route and have been offered jobs from valid Canadian employers, need to also have a temporary residence permit to be able to live in the country for the specific time allocated.
Work Permit: With the help from your employer, make sure to apply for a work permit as well.
Can I Switch To Permanent Residence With TFWP?
It is not certain, if one can switch to a permanent residence through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Most of the time, foreign workers leave the country ones the contract expires.
