NDC flagbearer elections: Alabi picks Mahama’s forms

Professor Joshua Alabi, a former Rector of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has selected nomination forms on behalf of former President John Dramani Mahama in order for him to run in the National Democratic Congress flagbearer elections (NDC).
On Wednesday, February 22, Prof Alabi picked up the forms in Accra.
“We are here to pick up the forms for his HE John Dramani Mahama,” he explained. As you are aware, we are living in extremely difficult times in this country; the economy is in shambles, people are suffering, and the bottom line is that people are pleading with the NDC to return.
“The NDC has had elections for all of its structures; now it is time for the flagbearer to deliver the 2024 elections,” he said.
“Ghanaians are asking for a well-experienced leader, leadership counts,” he added. If experience counts, then choose someone who has done it before and is very humble, someone who loves people and believes in people-centered policies. Fortunately, we have someone like that in the NDC as a country.
“We are here to pick his form and to work for him and work for the NDC and work for the people of Ghana.
“On January 15, 2015, the NDC will form a new government led by HE John Dramani Mahama,” the former flagbearer candidate stated.
On Tuesday, February 21, Mr Mahama informed the Minority caucus of his intentions during a meeting in his office in Accra.
The NDC announced that the nomination period for its Presidential candidate and Parliamentary candidates for the 2024 General Elections had begun.
As a result, starting at midnight on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023, Nomination Forms for Parliamentary Candidates will be available for purchase on the party’s official website, www.ghanandc.com, the main opposition party said in a statement on Tuesday, February 21.
According to the statement, nomination forms for Presidential aspirants will be available tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the Office of the General Secretary at the Party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra.
However, the party’s Functional Executive Committee has put the opening of nominations for parliamentary primaries in some constituencies on hold.
