Nigerian Lady Sacked From New Job In Canada For Saying “SORRY” Too Much
The Canadian employer fired a Nigerian woman who worked as a caretaker because she used the word “sorry” too frequently, according to her Instagram account, @mmariaammx. The young woman experienced cultural shock when she learned that the word “sorry” is not as common in Canada as it is in Nigeria. After her own experience, she shared a TikTok video in which she warned viewers to be prepared to unlearn and relearn things before relocating to other nations.Since she already had a regular 9-to-5 job in Canada, she figured she’d use her experience as a caretaker as a side gig. She made an effort to be understanding by constantly apologizing after noticing on her first day of work that her boss was dealing with a health issue that caused her daily anguish.Because her boss noticed that @mmariaammx became irritated by her continual “sorry,” she was summoned to account. Days later, her refusal to listen led to her dismissal.
