Adam Johnson Confirmed Dead After Neck Cut In Challenge Cup Match
Adam Johnson, ice hockey player for Nottingham Panthers, has been confirmed dead after suffering an extreme cut to the neck during a skate at the Challenge Cup match on Saturday.
The match against Sheffield Steelers on Saturday was stopped as Adam Johnson received an emergency treatment in the 35th minute.
The 29-year-old ice hockey player received an emergency treatment from the paramedics after he suffered a cut to the neck.
On Sunday, officials from Nottingham Panthers revealed that they were really devastated that the neck cut resulted in death for Johnson.
The Panthers also revealed that they will dearly miss Johnson and will never forget him as well. The late Adam Johnson wore the number 47 shirt for the Panthers. Also, he was outstanding and an incredible player for the Panthers.
A statement from the Panthers official read, “The Panthers would like to send their thoughts and condolences to the bereaved family”. Also, condolences message were sent to the wife of the late Adam Johnson, and his close friends as well.
Additionally, members of the club (Nottingham Panthers) including staffs and management are heartbroken and down with this devastating incident.
On Sunday, the 29th of October 2023, players visited the Nottingham arena to pay their tribute to their late brother. During the tribute they met with several fans which they all spoke and mourned together.
Matches across the UK on Sunday has been postponed as a result of this devastating news. The official statement regarding this postponement was released by the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).
Also, Nottingham Panthers were to play Manchester Storm on Sunday and also a game against Glasgow Clan on Tuesday, but as a result of the devastating passing of their brother, it has been postponed.
On Saturday, when the incident happened on the field, fellow players formed a protective ring around their brother before he was later sent to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital.
Right after the incident, about 8,000 fans were asked to leave the building. A devastating incident that took the life of an innocent man during Saturday’s ice hockey game.
