#NSMQ2023 1st Three Schools Book Semi-Final Spots

The #NSMQ2023 is already in the quarter-final stage and on day one of the quarter-finals, the 1st three Schools made it to the Semi-Finals of the competition.

Two girls’ schools are in the semis after day one contests, and it is hoped that one of them will win the NSMQ in 2023. Since the NSMQ commenced some 30 years ago, no girls’ school has won it.

The first contest of day one, October 15, was between Wesley Girls’ High School, Mpraeso SHS, and Bishop Herman College. The semi-final ticket was picked by Wesley Girls’ High School with a final contest score of 35 points, while Mpraeso SHS and Bishop Herman College secured 32 and 21 points, respectively.

Bishop Herman College – 21

In the second quarter-final contest, Achimota School picked the sole ticket for the semi-finals with 34 points to dispatch worrisome Kumasi High School, who earned 31 points, and Osei Kyeretwie SHS, who managed to obtain 24 points at the end.

Osei Kyeretwie SHS – 24

In the final contest of the day, St. Louis SHS, another all-girls school tipped by many to reach the finals, smashed records by winning with 50 points. They silenced the Ashanti region champions, Anglican SHS-Kumasi and Wesley Grammar SHS, who secured 24 and 21 points on the day. St. Louis SHS has been described as a school that is good at showing regional champions and big schools the exit door in their contest, which has sent Adisadel and Anglican SHS parking in their round of 16 and quarter-finals.

St. Louis SHS has broken its 13-year semi-final drought in 2023. The last time they made it to the semi-finals was in 2010.

The three schools that have a foot in their quarter-finals are Wesley Girls’ High School, Achimota School, and St. Louis SHS.

A semi-final such as Wesley Girls vs. Achimota vs. St. Louis is expected to have fireworks.

St. Louis SHS: 50 (Winner)

Anglican SHS-Kumasi – 24

Wesley Grammar SHS – 21

There are varied predictions making rounds as to which schools will make it to the finals. One such prediction is that St Louis, Presec, and Keta SHS will be in the finals.
