NTC to issue NSS personnel provisional teaching license
The management of the Ghana National Service Scheme (GNSS) says the National Teaching Council (NTC) after training some 30,000 national service personnel on a newly developed curriculum will issue them a provisional teaching license.
Mr Osei Assibey Antwi, the Executive Director of the Scheme who announced this at a stakeholder engagement meeting said the license will be issued to prospective service personnel posted to teach at all educational levels.
“30,000 national service personnel who would be posted to teach at all educational levels, would be given at least a month’s training by the time they entered the classroom, they would have provisional teaching license,” he stated.
He added “there is a law in this country which frowns on teaching without pedagogic training, we have linked up with National Teaching Council (NTC) which is developing the curriculum that would be used for the short training.”
