Police arrest man for allegedly killing brother in-law for money ritual

A 37-year-old man finds himself in police custody, accused of a heinous crime involving the alleged murder of his brother-in-law as part of a money ritual scheme. This shocking incident unfolded in the Diaso area, under the jurisdiction of the Diaso Divisional police command, located in the Upper Denkyira West district of the Central Region.
The accused, Kwame Addo, held the position of a site manager at an illicit mining site in Diaso. Seeking assistance with the administrative aspects of his operation, he made an offer to his brother-in-law, who happened to be a tailor by trade. The proposition was attractive to the deceased as it promised a more lucrative salary than his current occupation.

Tragedy struck on the very first day the deceased assumed his role as the official secretary for the proposed mining site. According to an eyewitness who shared their account with GhanaWeb, the events leading to this horrifying incident unfolded swiftly. Upon the deceased’s arrival at the mining site, Addo took the time to introduce him to the workers and provided a tour of the site’s premises, where mining activities were in progress.
However, the situation took a sinister turn as it was revealed that Addo had enlisted the services of men concealed in the nearby bushes. When they reached a secluded area of the site where no other workers were present, Addo joined these individuals, who were described as “macho men,” in a gruesome act that resulted in the murder of the deceased.
After confirming the death of the victim, the perpetrators callously disposed of his lifeless body by depositing it into one of the uncovered pits used for illegal mining. Subsequently, Addo returned home and reported to the family that the deceased, whom he had left at the mining site hours earlier, had not yet returned home.
Concerned for the well-being of their family member, the deceased’s family, accompanied by Addo, journeyed to the mining site in search of answers. To their utter shock and horror, they discovered the lifeless body of the deceased, discarded in a galamsey pit.

The situation escalated as the infuriated family subjected Addo to a severe beating. Fortunately, the timely intervention of the police prevented a potential lynching. As a result, Addo was placed under arrest and is currently in police custody, pending a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
