Guinness World Record, GWR disqualifies Chef Faila’s 227 hours, 0 minutes, and 2 seconds cook-a-thon. Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon has been officially disqualified by Guinness World Record as at March 3rd 2024.

Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon lasted an incredible 227 hours, 0 minutes, and 2 seconds, significantly exceeding the previous 119-hour record set by Irish chef Alan Fisher. Her accomplishment drew worldwide attention, with celebrities, leaders, and other Ghanaians rallying behind her. Vice-President Bawumia himself encouraged her as she stretched culinary boundaries.

As Chef Faila basked in her accomplishment, the world eagerly awaited formal certification from Guinness globe Records. Her record-breaking attempt was loaded with wonderful memories, and many people expected her to earn her position in the respected record books. However, a cloud of uncertainty hung over her accomplishment.

Ghanaians on the internet expressed concern because Chef Faila’s reference ID could not be discovered on GWR’s official website. Furthermore, there was no official confirmation from GWR that she had authorization to participate in the cook-a-thon attempt. Speculation spread quickly, leaving supporters concerned and expecting an official statement.

In an official statement released, and sighted by Ghanaeducation.org, it stated the final verdict from Guinness World Record regarding Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon which happened in Tamale.

Chef Faila’s Guiness World Record Attempt for the longest cooking marathon(individual) falls short. The attempt, which captivated audiences worldwide, unfortunately fell short of meeting the stringent guidelines set forth by Guinness World Records.

A statement from the Records Management Team cited a violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt.

In response to the decision, Chef Faila expressed profound gratitude to her supporters. “While the outcome may not be what we anticipated, I am deeply thankful for the unwavering support from our sponsors and partners, as well as the encouragement from our fans. Your backing has been instrumental throughout this journey,” said Chef Faila.

Faith Patricia Ariokot, a 29-year-old environmental activist from Kampala, Uganda, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a Guinness World Record for the longest time spent hugging a tree. Hugging Tree for 16 hours is the new  Guinness World Record.

Faith’s determination led her to embrace a tree trunk for an astonishing 16 hours and 6 seconds, making her the first official holder of this record. Her motivation behind this endeavor was to inspire others to join the cause of tree planting and underscore the critical importance of preserving our planet’s greenery.

In Faith’s own words, “They are the greatest soldiers in the fight against climate change.” Her connection with the chosen tree was profound, describing the selection process akin to choosing a bridal dress. “The tree chose me, and it was like love at first sight,” she expressed. “When I saw the tree, I knew it was the one I would go for.”

This remarkable achievement was not without its challenges. Despite being her third attempt within a month, Faith encountered obstacles during her previous endeavors, including technical issues with recording equipment and inclement weather conditions.

Unlike certain other Guinness World Records, Faith’s challenge was not a marathon exceeding 24 hours. Nevertheless, she endured the grueling task without breaks, keeping her arms firmly wrapped around the tree and remaining standing throughout the duration.

Reflecting on the physical toll of the feat, Faith recounted the discomfort she endured, with her feet aching and the tree’s rough surface causing pain and cuts. Despite moments of doubt and the urge to give up, Faith found solace in the tree’s presence, believing it provided her with the strength to persevere.

Nigeria's Hilda Baci Dethroned As Guinness World Record Confirms New Chef

Renowned Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, has officially been dethroned as the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon.

Guinness World Records (GWR) confirmed through a statement on its official website and a subsequent tweet that Hilda, who was declared the record holder in June, has been dethroned.

Hilda Baci Dethroned As Guinness World Record Confirms New Chef

The 26-year-old chef commenced her cooking marathon on Thursday, May 11, and concluded on Monday, May 15, successfully preparing over 100 pots of food during the four-day endeavor.

GWR reported that although Hilda aimed to set a record of 100 hours, nearly seven hours were deducted from her final total due to an inadvertent extension of one of her rest breaks early in the attempt.

Previously, Hilda had surpassed the former record of 87 hours and 45 minutes, established by Lata Tondon of India in 2019.

This is what Guinness world record said about the new chef

Alan Fisher (Ireland), an owner and chef of a restaurant in Japan, has broken two cooking-related Guinness World Records titles,” the statement read.

“First up, he’s claimed the longest cooking marathon (individual) after clocking in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes. That is more than 24 hours longer than the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.

“Alan then claimed the longest baking marathon (individual), with a time of 47 hours 21 minutes. The previous record holder was Wendy Sandner (USA) with a time of 31 hours 16 minutes.

“What’s even more impressive is that Alan took on both attempts back to back, meaning he was at work in the kitchen for over 160 hours with just over a day of rest in between!”
