Applications for the University of Edinburgh Ailie Donald scholarship 2024 are currently opened to all international students interested in studying in the UK.
Since its inception in 1583, the University of Edinburgh has influenced history with Nobel laureates, Olympic winners, space explorers, and prime ministers alike. Following the Scottish Enlightenment of the 18th century, the University rose to the top of academic and critical thinking rankings.
A group of Edinburgh intellectuals’ determination and endurance resulted in established facts about the world being aggressively and consistently challenged. Among this group was David Hume, a philosopher, economist, and essayist recognized for his philosophical ideas.
This fellowship is offered for postgraduate Masters studies in English and/or Historical Linguistics at the School of Philosophy, Psychology, and Language Sciences.

Requirements for Ailie Donald Scholarship
- Scholarships will be offered to candidates approved for admission to one of the following programmes of study at the University of Edinburgh’s School of Philosophy, Psychology, and Language Sciences.
- MSc programs include English Language, Linguistics, and Research Linguistics.
Applicants for MSc by Research programmes and University of Edinburgh graduates will be given preference. - Candidates must have or intend to achieve a First Class Honours degree at the undergraduate level, or its international equivalent.
Aim and Benefits of the Ailie Donald Scholarship
‘We are giving one scholarship to cover the UK tuition fee for MSc studies. Applicants who are required to pay overseas tuition fees will be charged the difference between the UK rate of fee and the international tuition fee. The rewards will be valid for one academic year’.
