WAAW Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship enables female college students in Africa to pursue their studies in a STEM-related course.
With this scholarship, you are free to focus on achieving your academic goal and volunteer to give back to your community and promote the engagement of women in STEM through the STEM Outreach Chapter at their university.
We are looking for scholars that show a need, have the passion, and drive to make a difference in their community.

About WAAW Foundation
WAAW Foundation was founded in 2007 by Dr. Unoma Okorafor while she was a PhD student, in response to a burning desire to see more women of African descent healthy, educated, and inspired to participate in home and community building.
As a lonely African female voice in Technology, Unoma set out to create sustainable, long-lasting ways to support and educate African women in technology innovation.
WAAW Foundation recognizes that Female Education and Science and Technology Innovation are the two most crucial components to poverty alleviation and rapid development in Africa.
Benefits
- Scholarship recipients will receive an award of $500 for the academic year, or the equivalent in their country’s local currency.
- Scholarship recipients may reapply for renewal the following year, with proof of continued excellent academic performance.

Requirements for WAAW Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships
- Female students of African origin, living and studying in Africa.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Studying STEM-related courses in a University or college in Africa.
- Presently a first or second year student or a third-year student for a 5-year course in a University.
- Ability to demonstrate financial need
- Excellent Academic Record.
- Proven leadership, volunteering, and community service
- Below the age of 32 years.
Documents Required for Application
- 2 Reference Letter to be submitted by your referees.
- 1 signed and sealed copy of your current transcript from your University.
- 1 scanned copy of your school ID card.
