WAEC to release 2026 BECE result any moment from now

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) failed to release the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results on 15th May and 20th May, as disclosed by the council. At the time of filing this report, the question many candidates and parents are asking is, “What Is The New 2026 BECE Result Release Date?”

WAEC has not disclosed officially the new date for the release of the results. Per information available to this portal, WAEC is most likely to release the result in the evening of or before Friday, 31st July 2026. The exact time is also known; however, in 2025, the BECE and WASSCE results were released in the evenings after 8 pm.

Parents and candidates who have purchased result checker cards are advised to keep the checker cards safe and use them only when the result is released.

In a related development, the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ghana Education Service (GES) have disclosed that Junior High School graduates will report to school on 18th September, 2026.

School selection was expected to commence on 20th July, but due to the non-release of the BECE results, the Ministry of Education did not roll it out. The MoE is expected to provide the road map and guidelines as soon as WAEC releases the results. Ahead of that, school selection is expected to start from Monday, 20th July, to 7th August, 2026.
