Who invented the moonwalk?
The moonwalk is a dance move that creates the illusion of walking backwards while actually moving forwards.
It was invented by tap dancer Bill Bailey in the 1930s, but it was popularized by Michael Jackson in his 1983 performance of “Billie Jean” on Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever.
How to do a moonwalk
- Start with your feet together and your weight on your right foot.
- Slide your left foot back behind you, keeping your weight on your right foot.
- Roll your right foot forward and shift your weight to your left foot.
- Slide your right foot back behind you, keeping your weight on your left foot.
