You’re more than capable; make us proud – Nana Addo to Black Stars after Portugal loss

Even though the Black Stars lost to Portugal 3-2 in the first game of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said that Ghanaians will always support them.
Nana Akufo-Addo says that Ghanaians are hopeful that the Black Stars will win the rest of their games and move on to the next round.
“I know you are more than capable of moving on and doing very well in this competition. Lucky for you, I came here to show you that the people of Ghana stand with you and to give you hope. He told the team, “I know you’re going to make us all very proud.”
In an earlier tweet, the President said that the Black Stars’ game against Portugal was very good.
The Black Stars lost 3-2 on Thursday, but they played so well in the second half that they almost got a draw at the end.
A goal from Andre Ayew made up for a penalty kick from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Joao Felix and Rafael Leao’s goals seemed to give Portugal the game, but Ghana’s Osman Bukari headed in a cross to make the end of the game very tense for Portugal.
Nana Akufo-Addo said that the team’s performance showed that they could compete with any team at the World Cup in a tweet after the game.
“The Black Stars played with a lot of guts in today’s game against Portugal. “I’m very proud of everyone on the team,” said the President.
“They get to fight another day, and they’ve shown that they can compete with any team in the tournament. Looking forward to playing South Korea in the next game.”
