2022 NSMQ to be launched after WASSCE: Check date, schools & Venue

The country’s most competitive secondary school National Science and Maths Quiz for 2022 (2022 NSMQ) is scheduled to be launched on 3rd October 2022. The 2021 edition saw Legon Presec and Keta Senior High School (KETASCO) bow to the dexterity, resilience, hunger for success, and brain power of the Prempeh College lads. Who wears the crown this year? Only time will tell.

The NSMQ is a programme that promotes the study of Maths & Science at the Secondary School level and is proudly produced by #Primetime. The education programme won the CIMG TV Programme of the Year in 2017.

Primetime announced the date for the launch via a Twitter post. The announcement which was crafted to hype the event and increase the euphoria surrounding the event read “Bring out your textbooks, dust your old school uniform and sweeten your “Jama” voice with some honey because it’s almost that time of the year again.”

Details of the 2022 NSMQ to be launched after WASSCE

  1. Balloting for the 2022 Science and Maths Quiz competition will be held on Monday, 3ed October 2022.
  2. The Balloting event starts at 3 pm
  3. The Ghana National Association of Graduate Teachers (GNAT) new conference hall, Accra, will be the event grounds.
  4. The prelims of the 2022 NSMQ will kick off 10 days after the launch on 13th October 2022
  5. One-eight stage of the competition will be from October 15 to 18, 2022
  6. Quarter-final clashes in the 2022 NSMQ will be held between October 19 to 21, 2022
  7. The last knockout stage (Semi-Finals) will be held on October 23, 2022.
  8. The 2022 NSMQ final is scheduled for October 26, 2022.

The event in the last two years has seen less known schools and underdogs cause surprises and knock out more fancied schools. This is expected to continue in the 2022 edition of the Maths and Science quiz.

Primetime, who are the organizers of the competition are yet to announce the venue for the 2022 NSMQ  which is to be launched after WASSCE.
