The government of Ghana has suspended the 64th Independence Day Anniversary Parade. Subsequently, the Ghana Education Service (GES) acting on a letter from the Office of Chief of Staff has suspended the celebration.
The decision of the government to call off the celebration is due to the prevalence rate of COVID-19 cases in the country.
There has been no indication as to whether the 6th March 2021 which falls on Saturday will be declared a public holiday on Monday 8th January 2021.
