  • NIA Ghana Card Registration for Children between the ages of 6 and 14 has started.

  • The National Identification Authority (NIA) has officially announced the resumption of the Ghana Card registration exercise for children within the age bracket of 6 to 14 years. This exercise is set to commence next month, May 2026.

    Parents are to ensure that they have valid birth certificates for their children from the Birth and Death Registration Office before they visit any registration centre for the service. Where this is not readily available, the parent(s) of the minor must be present at the registration centre with the child(ren) to go through the process. A passport will also be valid, while two social welfare officers will be needed in other instances where the child is under the care of such officers.

    According to the official notice released by the authority, this phase of the registration drive is specifically targeted at residents in the Volta and Oti Regions. Parents and guardians within these two regions are encouraged to prepare the necessary documentation to ensure a smooth registration process.

    Important Registration Requirements

    To facilitate a successful registration, the NIA has outlined specific requirements. Applicants must provide at least one of the following forms of identification or adhere to the verification process:
